It's Friday and . . .it's Friday the 13th! I included a picture of my character Stella because she looks how most people feel by Friday. So that's the time to treat ourselves to a little TLC and go out for dinner with loved ones or friends, take that bubble bath or go on that shopping trip to discover the winter sales! Have a great night. :>
Just wanted to share the good news that I have finally finished my book. The book was published on Blurb, a self-publishing site. I was very impressed with how easy the site is to use. Also, I thought the paper and color quality of the book was excellent. I have posted the link here if you wanted a sneak peek. The book took 9 months to finish in my spare time. I tried to work on it in between jobs for clients. There is a total of 34 illustrations including the cover. Yes, I know that far exceeds what would be the norm for a children's book but it just took on a life of it's own. My future endeavors will not be as abundant with illustrations or text. Please enjoy let me know what you think. Have a Happy New Year! Wishing you all happiness, joy, health and success in the new year. Link to The Giant and The Fly http://www.blurb.com/books/2734215
Thanks for visiting my website. I wanted to get my first post in before the end of the year and I succeeded with 4 days to spare!
This has been a really great year for me with art. I recently finished one of my books on the self-publish site called Blurb. The book came out great, I was impressed with the quality of the color and paper they use.
I think it is a great way to go if you want to be in control of your own book sales. I hope to have a store on my website soon in order to purchase this book (others in process), a line of cards and more. So please keep checking in.
In closing out my year I've been working on a background scene for Mr. Greg and his puppeteer friends, some really cool monkeys. They will be joining him in singing some of his songs on his next video. Mr Greg sings and plays his guitar to entertain children, parents and teachers with his fun array of sing-a-long tunes. His audiences love to jump, dance and sing to songs like Monkey Dance, Running Shoes, Bounce and much more ... check out his website for more information at www.mrgregsmusicalmadness.com.
Hopefully this coming year will be as productive and fun!
I've been working on one of my chicken characters. Her name is Tilly and she just can't help getting into trouble. Don't you just love those characters that always seem to get into some kind of mischief!
FACT: I have been drawing since I was little. I think my mother said when I was born I came out with a package of Crayola crayons. From then on it's pretty much history. I was drawing princesses on the cellar wall going down the stairs (the walls were white it looked like a blank sheet of paper to me!). Of course, my mother found out and made me wash the wall immediately! I think I was five. My sister had wall duty too, when she drew horses my mother knew it was her. We had clean cellar walls that's for sure!
